GOOSE CAM · ANDROID
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2, 2026
This policy explains how the GOOSE CAM Android app (“GOOSE CAM,” “we,” or “the app”) handles information when you record basketball games, use automatic reframing, or choose to stream to YouTube.
Information the app uses
- Camera video. GOOSE CAM uses camera frames to show the preview, record your game, and analyze motion to guide automatic reframing. Motion analysis happens on your device.
- Microphone audio. If microphone access is allowed and the microphone is not muted in Settings, GOOSE CAM captures ambient audio while recording. Audio is included in saved recordings and in a YouTube live stream when streaming is enabled. You can mute the microphone in Settings; Android asks for microphone permission before recording with audio.
- Saved recordings. Recordings and reframed copies are saved to your device’s Movies/GooseCam folder. The app does not upload or store those recordings on a GOOSE CAM server.
- Settings. Preferences such as video quality and whether YouTube Live is enabled are stored on your device.
- Beta requests. If you use the website beta request form, it collects your name, email address, Android device details, and testing interests so we can review your request and contact you. Form submissions are processed and stored by Netlify, our website host. We do not use these details for advertising or sell them.
- YouTube account and live-stream data, if you connect YouTube. Google sign-in provides an authorization token that the app uses to create and manage a live broadcast on the YouTube channel you select. GOOSE CAM uses the YouTube Data API to create a stream and broadcast, bind them, and change the broadcast status. The app currently creates broadcasts with YouTube’s “unlisted” privacy setting.
When video is sent to YouTube
Video leaves your device only when you enable the YouTube Live setting and start a live stream. The live camera output, including the app’s current reframing, is sent to YouTube over its streaming service. Audio is also sent while the microphone is unmuted. YouTube processes and stores the stream under the connected account and YouTube’s own settings and policies. You can manage the broadcast in YouTube Studio.
Google authorization
GOOSE CAM requests YouTube permissions so it can create and manage a live broadcast for the account you authorize. The app uses the authorization token to make requests directly to the YouTube Data API. The app does not send that token to a GOOSE CAM server. Google’s handling of account data is described in Google’s Privacy Policy. You can review or revoke third-party access in your Google Account security settings.
Storage, retention, and deletion
Local game recordings remain on your device until you delete them or remove them using Android’s file or gallery tools. GOOSE CAM does not keep a separate cloud copy. Live broadcasts and related stream records are handled by YouTube and can be managed through YouTube Studio. Removing GOOSE CAM’s Google access does not automatically delete content already created in YouTube.
Sharing and sale
We do not operate a GOOSE CAM account service or backend server, and we do not sell personal information. If you start a YouTube stream, the video and broadcast details are shared with YouTube to provide that feature. Google and YouTube may process information under their own policies.
Children and recorded people
GOOSE CAM is a camera tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from children through an account system. Recordings may contain players, spectators, or other people. Before recording or streaming, follow the venue’s rules and obtain any permissions required from participants, guardians, or the event organizer.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as GOOSE CAM’s features change. The “Last updated” date above will change when a revised policy is published.
